Beany and Cecil Commission by TVsKyle Beany and Cecil Commission by TVsKyle
A commission for :iconblueplastic:
A birthday gift for her friend Kristi, who happens to be a big Beany and Cecil fan. Awkward layout, but I think Cecil looks pretty cool.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only person who noticed Dishonest John's svelte frame.

Excellent work on all three, by the way. Cecil's expression gets me the most.

Hi Kristy! I'm so glad you like it. I've been a B&C fan since 1987! Wild Man of Wildsville is my favorite episode. Happy Birthday!

That time sounds about right. We recorded a bunch on VHS while in Germany (where I was born), and then I've loved to watch them along with the others for ever. We bought that DVD you mentioned a few years ago, but I need to rebuy it for my self. And thank god for YouTube, where I've been able to find a few of their cartoons.

Nothing compares to Cecil the Sea Sick Sea Serpent.

I just noticed. This is your 900th deviation. Meaning what a perfect fit for the 900th. And I've never seen that show and I've barely heard of it.

Now there's a little seen cartoon. Great humor at so many levels that if you watched it as a kid you had to watch it again as an adult (sometimes, a well read adult) to get the rest of the jokes and references. I'm talking about the series from the early sixties, of course. The later ones weren't quite so complex.

Did you know that before it was a cartoon, it was a puppet show and that when they switched to cartoons the studio used to have in house contests to imagine what the other end of Cecil looked like?

Off to torrent search for me after this reminder.
