Thanks a load. I'm Kristy (despite the deviant name) and you ROCK for setting this up. I adore Beany and Cecil. Wild Man of Wildsville, the Singing Dinahshore, A meance name Venis (sp), Thundercolt the Wonderbolt, Spots off a Leopard, and Little Ace from Outer Space. OH!!! And R-A-G-G M-O-P-P RAGG MOPP!!
That time sounds about right. We recorded a bunch on VHS while in Germany (where I was born), and then I've loved to watch them along with the others for ever. We bought that DVD you mentioned a few years ago, but I need to rebuy it for my self. And thank god for YouTube, where I've been able to find a few of their cartoons.
Nothing compares to Cecil the Sea Sick Sea Serpent.
Now there's a little seen cartoon. Great humor at so many levels that if you watched it as a kid you had to watch it again as an adult (sometimes, a well read adult) to get the rest of the jokes and references. I'm talking about the series from the early sixties, of course. The later ones weren't quite so complex.
Did you know that before it was a cartoon, it was a puppet show and that when they switched to cartoons the studio used to have in house contests to imagine what the other end of Cecil looked like?
