Looks more inspired by John K. That's a complement here.

I've always been more of a fan of The Alvin Show than I was of the other incarnations....probably because of the cartoons featuring the egocentric Clyde Crashcup.

I appreciate how close you've gotten to the old 60's show style. That was the best.

Thanks! Yeah, I wanted to see what it'd look like if the 60s Chipmunks were drawn in more of a 40s style. :3

Not a big fan of Alvin, but I will say that I like this. More appealing than the live-action chipmunks(like a few have mentioned).

Yeah! The classics never cease to make me laugh. Even now I'm tempted to get out the old sing-along tapes I used still have.

I like how you sketched them in their specific colors. I'm more of an 80s fan of the Chipmunks and Chipettes. :D

These are great. I think this is the most appropriate rendition of the chipmunks.

Here! Take some of this. [link]

Me too. Sadly, these movies alienate today's generation of children from what they're supposed to be based on. Like last December, that Chipmunks holiday episode aired and my nephew complained it it was not "the real Chipmunks." Ugh!

Excellent.

Hopefully their speaking voices won't sound "robotish" or over-enunciated during the speed-up process as in the original Bagdasarian Sr. version.

The Ruby-Spears Chipmunks from the 1980s were cute although the Dean Elliott music scores got too syrupy a lot...the Hanna-Barbera sound effects were a saving grace.

Excellent interpretations, mister. I dig Alvin's energy and the off-kilter glasses on Simon. Could Theodore be a bit rounder?

Screw the CGI bullcrap. Hollywood has been ruining our nostalgia since ever. We don't want the damn Hollywood jerkasses to do that!

Bullcrap? AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW COME ON. Without those movies I will have NEVER know who the Chipmunks/Chipettes are. And I would have never know what the cartoon is. It's the same thing with my cousin(And other kids) without those movie they will have never know who the Chipmunks/Chipettes. And by the way they are still the same. Alvin is still the rockstar, Simon is still the smart, responsible one, Theodore is still the cute chubby Chipmunk, Brittany is still the little star, Jeanette is still the shy sweet one and Eleanor is still the adorable little girl.

Yes! the original chipmunks before they became chip-punks! C: I like your rendition of them. Not only do you maintain recognizable physique and personality, but you contribute your own zaniness to the work. C:

And seriously, what's the deal with these live-action/CGI hybrid movies based on saturday morning cartoons these days?

Yeah, I get asked this a lot. My position is this: If people stopped going to them, they'd stop making them. I'm not the target audience of these movies, and the existence of them doesn't make the old stuff go away, so I am satisfied to simply ignore them.

I still find it funny how "Chipwrecked" grossed more money in the first weekend than "Mission Impossible 4." Both of those movies didn't need to be made. =P
