I'm curious though, after the first three random lines do you think more cautiously with the rest of them to make the image, or does it all just flow quickly?
It varies from pic to pic. Sometimes, I can find one right away. Other times (like this one) it takes some thinking. I always have to fight the urge to make all of them into turtles.
My problem with the 3-line thing is that I never get my lines "random" enough.
Me and my buddies did something similar in school long time ago, only we did a few lines and then passed it over to the next guy, who did something with them. Somehow, I always felt that was easier :/
Nothing wrong with having someone else draw the first 3 lines.
