For his bravery, a sorcerer replaced his arm with one made of magic stones that could turn into any weapon (from hammers to bazookas). The green stone in the shoulder is a weak point. If crackled, he dies. (a silly place for a weak point, isnt it? XD) He goes around the world hunting treasures and searching for the Dragon to have his revenge."
So, when I went to give him a weapon, for some reason a drill was the first thing to come to mind. Might be because I've been perusing the Dead Leaves art book lately.
