Ok, this is gonna be brief, but pay attention. I just saw Kung Fu Panda. I know what Dreamworks movies have been like in the past, and I know how terrible the trailers look.

FORGET ALL THAT.

Seriously, forget it. Kung Fu Panda is an excellent animated film. The story, voices, and animation are all top-notch. They don't explain the hell out of everything. They trust the audience's intelligence. There are no fart jokes. There are no pop-culture references. It's not even a parody of a kung fu movie! It's a good kung fu movie!

...That happens to star Jack Black. A well-used Jack Black. In fact, yeah, this does have an all-star cast, but it's a well-used one. In fact, Dustin Hoffman is doing a voice for the whole thing, and it came as a complete surprise when the credits rolled.

Speaking of the credits, enjoy the gorgeous 2D opening and closing.

Put your pre-conceived notions in your pockets, go see this on Friday, and enjoy a wonderful animated movie.
